The DC3 has earned the nickname "workhorse of the skies". Thousands were produced by the Douglas Aircraft factories from the end of the Second World War until the 1950s. Military, civil, government, private, you name it. Absolutely reliable. Even now it is possible for them to fly from remote airports and land on the narrowest of strips. Legendary and nostalgic.
